Our group worked with the communal goal of up-keeping our natural environment by caring for, maintaining, and cultivating various foods and plants, in our internships. One member worked at Hampshire farm using organic farming practices to grow and harvest vegetables as well as care for livestock. Similarly, one other member worked at Sawyer Farm harvesting and growing vegetables. Our third member worked in the Mount Holyoke greenhouse as a botanic garden intern, maintaining the garden collection and growing the first-year plants for the class of 2026. The fourth was a fishmonger and food runner. Their responsibility was to memorize all the ingredients in the dishes they prepared and to know all the specific seafood the fish market produced. Our experiences taught us the value of the natural world and we look forward to incorporating our knowledge to our future communities.
