Join the Astronomy Department in welcoming Astrophysicist Dr. Jenna Samra to Mount Holyoke College on February 8! This event is in celebration of the Total Solar Eclipse that will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada on April 8, 2024.
At 4:45 pm, please join us for Dr. Samra's talk in Hooker Auditorium in Clapp Laboratory, titled, "Exploring the Sun’s Corona during a Total Solar Eclipse: Instrumentation and Observations". Pizza and light refreshments will be provided after the talk.
Consider joining us for a pre-talk event at 3:00pm in Kendade Atrium. We are hosting a meet-and-greet reception with light refreshments with Dr. Samra.

As an astrophysicist at the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) | Harvard & Smithsonian, Dr. Jenna Samra develops remote sensing instruments to observe the solar corona and Earth's atmosphere. She leads the CfA’s high-altitude infrared coronal instrumentation program, the subject of her talk.
