The Crisis in American Democracy
Adam Hilton, Associate Professor of Politics
Location: Cleveland L2
In his first 100 days of his second administration, President Donald Trump has sought to remake American politics in his image. He has aggressively expanded the powers of the executive branch, authorized the richest man on Earth to dismantle federal institutions, usurped the constitutional authority of Congress, and attacked the legitimacy of the courts. What does Trump's unprecedented presidency mean for the future of American democracy, and what can be done to safeguard it?
