Black Parents Matter Healing Circle with Tomiko Jenkins, LCSW and Carol Stewart, Director of Staff Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives

This is a past event.

This event is focused on creating a space to support Black community members who are parenting during this difficult time. It will be focused on providing emotional and social well-being for individuals who participate and will specifically emphasize strategies for self-care.

Important Note: This event is open to all members of the Mount Holyoke community that identify as Black and includes alumnx, faculty, staff and students. We will have a separate slate of events for parents who want to raise children through an anti-racist praxis. For more information, please contact Associate Director of Equity and Compliance Shannon DaSilva at sdasilva@mtholyoke.edu

For those who want to strengthen their allyship, we recommend reading these sources about the challenges of Black parenting right now:

For inquiries about the accessibility of this event or to request accommodations, please contact Shannon DaSilva (sdasilva@mtholyoke.edu). Please make accommodation requests no later than 72 hours in advance to give implementation time.  In all situations, a good faith effort will be made to provide accommodations up until the time of the event.
