DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening of three short films: I Think We Hope W
e’re Right (Charlie Theobald)\, The Truck (Liz Rao)\, and VERSE (Noam an
d Sappir Argov) followed by a moderated conversation with the filmmakers.\
n\nTogether\, these films explore the shifting terrain of bodily autonomy\
, intimacy\, and power across physical and virtual worlds. Moving through
questions of gender\, race\, and identity\, each short film traces how ind
ividuals navigate moments where the boundaries of consent\, safety\, and a
gency are unclear or contested. The characters we encounter are often push
ed into liminal spaces - online environments\, fleeting encounters\, or ps
ychological interiors - where traditional structures of protection fall aw
ay and new rules are still being negotiated.\n\nFrom mediated connection i
n virtual space\, to encounters shaped by vulnerability and survival\, to
the quiet aftermath of harm\, these films resist easy narratives. Instead\
, they sit with complexity\, asking what it means to represent experiences
that are often overlooked\, misunderstood\, or reduced.\n\nThe screening
will be followed by a panel with the filmmakers\, where they reflect on re
presentation\, responsibility\, and the evolving language of storytelling
in a moment where definitions of body autonomy\, intimacy\, and care remai
n in flux. This conversation is presented for BOOM and in collaboration wi
th Sexual Assault Awareness Month.\n\nContent note: This program includes
themes and depictions of gender-based\, race-based\, and sexual violence.
