Black students will meet and discuss the history of stigmatization surrounding the bonnet and durags and Black people’s hair. Students would be encouraged to wear their bonnets and durags to the event, though it is not required. Students who attend this event will be fed pizza and drinks and will receive a wellness gift bag. Ultimately, this event seeks to build community within the five college consortium and learn the history of protecting black hair.
