From navigating behavioral protocol to overcoming laboratory mishaps, as research assistants, our journeys taught us that finding creative solutions is the key to making us better scientists. In our panel, we will explore our 4 different journeys that highlight our commitment to knowledge and further the advancements of science; with depression in rats, insulin metabolism in fruit flies, Alzheimer’s in mice, and understanding underlying cellular processes of cancer. Through each of our unique research experiences, we gained vital knowledge and experience in both the laboratory and professional settings. Our panel will illustrate the ways in which perseverance and problem-solving skills helped us navigate the scientific world and equipped us to become better scientists.
