Trans Women Of Color Healing Project

This interactive workshop, Breaking the Chains: Addressing Intersectional Trauma and Stigma in Black LGBTIQ Communities, is designed to critically examine how intersecting forms of oppression shape the lived experiences of Black LGBTIQ individuals. Through the lens of Sankofa: Looking Back to Move Forward, we will explore historical and contemporary systems of criminalization, trauma, and stigma while developing actionable strategies for healing, advocacy, and systemic change.

The session will be highly participatory, incorporating storytelling, case studies, group discussions, and community-driven problem-solving to foster engagement and collective learning. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on past struggles and movements while envisioning a future rooted in justice and liberation.
