In this panel, we discuss our diverse summer research projects/internships which included sleep studies, music theory, graph theory, and education that were brought together by data analysis. Data became a common thing that enabled us to find important insights and close gaps across disciplines, despite the unique character of each project. Caroline Stanziano scored pediatric sleep into stages through behavioral analysis. April Ren applied distance measure to Renaissance music, comparing intricate patterns across a vast corpus to reveal hidden musical connections. Jennifer Pham sampled and examined graph patterns to propose math conjectures and properties for directly forceable graphs. Prashikshya Pokhrel analyzed survey data collected from parents, teachers, and students regarding science kits at Karkhana and conducted workshops on R Studio for Karkhana members to enhance their data literacy.
