Molly is a Social Justice educator and the co-creator of CoJourn, a peer support and accountability framework designed to help people build connection and make movement toward their goals (www.cojourn.org). Molly has a background in higher education, and has been leading trainings and workshops in the community, and teaching Intergroup Dialogue and Social Justice courses at the undergraduate and graduate level for the past eighteen years. She received her doctorate in Social Justice Education from the Department of Student Development at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014. Molly currently teaches at Mount Holyoke College, as a part-time Lecturer in Intergroup Dialogue, co-facilitating Intergroup Dialogues on race and racism, and co-teaching an Intergroup Dialogue Facilitation course. She is the co-author of the book “CoJourn: Harnessing the Power of Connection to Tune into Your Wisdom, Achieve Your Goals, and Create the Life You Want” and has been co-leading CoJourn programs for a variety of audiences for the past five years. In addition to being a passionate Social Justice educator and connection building, she is also a runner, triathlete, pug enthusiast, a budding accordionist, and an eternal optimist.
Patricia Romney received her Ph.D. from the City University of New York where she won the Bernard R. Ackerman Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Graduate Psychology. She worked in various roles in higher education for 30 years. At Mount Holyoke College she was the first therapist of color at the Patti Groves Health Center and later spent 10 years as a Visiting Associate Professor of Psychology and Education. Dr. Romney has authored over 20 articles and papers. Her co-edited volume Understanding Power: An Imperative for Human Services was published in 2017 by NASW Press. Her book We Were There: The Third World Women’s Alliance and the Second Wave of Feminism was published by Feminist Press in October 2021. An early leader of DEI and organizational change, Dr. Romney’s current work is focused on leadership coaching and dialogue facilitation. Her goal is to support this generation’s leaders and to build connection and heal fractures, moving communities from an us/them focus to a focus on connection, community, and the common good.
