Established in 1923, the Glascock Intercollegiate Poetry Competition is the oldest continuously running poetry contest for undergraduate students in the United States. Students are judged by a panel of three distinguished poets. This year’s poet-contestants are:

  • Nessa Joan (Brooklyn College)
  • Kiara Korten (University of Connecticut)
  • tess Nelson (Bard Microcollege Holyoke)
  • Amelia Potter (Mount Holyoke College)
  • Reem Thakur (Tufts University)
  • María Vielma-Baxter (Hampshire College)

The 2026 competition will feature two public events: the Contestants' Reading on Thursday, April 9, and the Judges' Reading—followed by the announcement of the winner—on Friday, April 10.

The events are sponsored by the Kathryn Irene Glascock Memorial Fund, the Joyce Horner Poetry Prize, the Charles and Rosanna Batchelor Memorial Fund, the Weissman Center for Leadership, and the Department of English at Mount Holyoke College.
