Invocar los ríos: poética y mixtura is an exploration of poetic writing as an embodied practice, crossed by Mapuche memory, diaspora and family narrative. Invoking becomes a gesture to imagine new forms of presence and care, calling attention to listening.

Daniela Catrileo is an awarded Mapuche poet, essayist and fiction writer. Her novel Chilco (2023) was honored with the Santiago Municipal Award and is a finalist for the Cercador Prize for Literature in Translation (2025)

Copies of Daniela's novel Chilco will be for sale by Odyssey Bookshop at the event.

This event is cosponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives, and the Miller Worley Center for the Environment.
