Decolonizing Caribbean Studies and Confronting the Gatekeepers of Knowledge with Jose Gonzalez
Join the first session of the Black Scholar Series: Pathways to the Professoriate for BIPOC Scholars with José Gonzalez, a Ph.D. student at the W. E. B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. José will speak about his educational journey as a non-traditional student working toward a Ph.D. and share findings from his dissertation titled, "The Bittersweet Experience of a Black Studies Scholar Navigating El Archivo General de la Nación de República Dominicana (The General Archives of the Dominican Republic Nation)." Q&A will be available.
