A day in the life of a Data Analyst in the Tech Industry

Last summer, I interned as a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon. The team I worked with was under Amazon Web Services (AWS), and thus, most of our focus was around Amazon cloud services. During the internship, I was given a specific project to evaluate some of the newly launched services the organization has been working on. My daily responsibilities revolved around understanding how the AWS database system operates and applying it to build the data model. One of the project's main focuses was understanding how to collect data, transform it into insights, and visualize them in the dashboard. From this experience, I got the chance to work on independent research, and maintain communication with my teams simultaneously.

Speaking with Data: Software Engineering at Arbo

This summer, I worked as a software engineering intern at Arbo, a company that provides software, analytics, and data services to the energy transportation, trading, and marketing industries. As an intern, I was part of a scrum team where I learned and utilized the Django framework, Python, and Amazon Web Services to maintain and develop software products. My main responsibilities included creating a sample data warehouse implementation with a task scheduling feature, building an internal notification system on the Slack platform to automatically check updates from the Supreme Court website, and aggregating and cleaning up various datasets. My presentation will focus on how data gains value, as well as on navigating working in a cross-functional team and how a company that offers software as a service discovers and develops a product.

Experience Economic Consulting

My presentation offers a concise yet insightful overview of my internship experience in an economic consulting company. It delves into the practical application of economic theories and data analysis within the antitrust consulting division. Through real-world examples and challenges faced during the internship, I hope to shed light on the dynamic experience of working in the industry.
