The Examining Privilege staff/faculty discussion group meets biweekly to read and discuss current writing on racism and social justice in America, and works to incorporate anti-racism and anti-bias practices into our professional and personal lives.

For Fall 2023, we will be discussing the Common Read, “Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century,” written by people with disabilities and edited by disabled activist and writer Alice Wong.

We encourage all to attend the Alice Wong event on September 7.

Newcomers and drop-ins are always welcome! For more information or to join the email list, contact Cara clapenas@mtholyoke.edu or Janet jcrosby@mtholyoke.edu

For the first session, please read the Introduction (xv-xxii), the "About the Editor and About the Contributors" (p 277-289) and share thoughts on Sept 7th Alice Wong talk.
