DESCRIPTION:A family of sugar-cane farmers in Louisiana worked the same lan
 d for generations and ultimately they began to realize that racism was loo
 ming over their hard labor and that they may soon become dispossessed of t
 heir land. They couldn’t figure out what was happening until one day a f
 ateful call reached the family known as The Provosts\, that called changed
  their lives and started them on a path to fight dispossession and reveale
 d the plight of Black farmers everywhere. In the 1619 Project Podcast\, we
  learn the story of June and Angie Provost with an understanding of what i
 s described as “echoes in a past case that led to the largest civil righ
 ts settlement in American history.” We reflect on this history in an imp
 ortant dialogue with June and Angie Provost.\n\nThis event is co-sponsored
