The Five College West African Music Ensemble, directed by Faith Conant, focuses on music from the Gbe-speaking people of southern Togo, Ghana, and Benin, played on authentic instruments (drums, shakers, and bells). Professional musicians hailing from Ghana and Benin join the students for semester-end performances.
