Indigenous Educator, Lightworker, Chef and Herbalist Rachel Beth Sayet or Akitusut (She Who Reads), a member of the Mohegan nation will lead a lecture on the history of Native foods in New England and the importance of food sovereignty as a means of racial healing and justice.

About Rachel Beth Sayet: Raised with the spirits of her ancestors, she grew up learning traditional stories and teachings and participating in tribal events. Her passions for food and history have led her to give guest lectures around the country on Native foods in New England. Rachel has always been passionate about and proud of her Mohegan heritage and identity as well as an avid studier and learner about other cultures, indigenous and beyond. Educated at Cornell, she completed her B.S. Degree in Restaurant Management. She later earned her Master’s degree at Harvard University in Anthropology and Museum Studies.
