Helping in the time of COVID

This is a past event.

Please join us in conversation with three MHC students and alums who, throughout the pandemic, have been working in COVID-related positions. This is a great opportunity to hear about some different ways that college students and young professionals are contributing to efforts to help their communities.

Tsion Girmay is a 2019 graduate and international student. She worked on a study focused on demonstrating the efficacy of AstraZeneca’s (then) potential COVID-19 vaccine, and she has just started a new position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center conducting vaccine research including for both COVID-19 and HIV.

Hannah Lavoie completed MHC’s former post-baccalaureate program in 2019. For the past year she has worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at UMass Memorial Health, including on a COVID floor.

Hannah Meyerson is a current MHC senior. Throughout the pandemic, she has been working as an EMT on Long Island. She has additionally participated in COVID-19 vaccine administration through home visits.
