An homage to Gloria Anzaldúa, as well as the Queer and Trans of Color community at Mount Holyoke, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion invites you to this musical, love-centered event. We will gather for an informal luncheon, play instruments, share readings from Gloria Anzaldúa’s work and honor the history of women of color activists.

Gloria Anzaldua was a self-described "chicana dyke-feminist, tejana patlache poet, writer, and cultural theorist.” Her dedication to rupturing the oppressive world through her own internal spiritual work led to her theories that served as a cornerstone of the Third Wave feminist movement and her writing opened up the door for radical feminist queer of color literature. The Gloria Anzaldúa LLC is named in her honor.

I-SHEA is an eclectic ARTist and musician; she's a.k.a. ‘The Original Jewminican’ who comes from the source of hip hop and raised in the sauce of merengue, bolero, rumba, salsa, reggae, nyabinghi, r&b, soul, and west african rhythms. I-SHEA will lead us through this musical, energizing, and spiritual event.

Join us for your lunch break, and break through into new connections, artistic expressions, and perhaps even a new world."
