Prompt:
Hortense Parker’s life centered on the creation and appreciation of music, especially as an accomplished pianist. As a person of color Hortense Parker faced various challenges in the pursuit of an education.

  • As a current student of color at MHC how do you embrace self liberation and creativity through your work? What challenges do you face?
  • In what ways does your identity play into your expression and creativity.

All submissions must be turned in by September 29th there will be no exceptions. Any performance-based submissions must be pre-recorded.

Prizes for first, second and third place.
