The Mount Holyoke College International Senior Ceremony is a recognition ceremony honoring International graduating seniors.

During the celebration, we will honor graduating International seniors by awarding tassels and by the special addresses along with refreshments.

Attire is semi-formal.

What is an International college student?

At Mount Holyoke College, an International student is defined as a student who needs a visa to enter the US to study at MHC or as a green card holder who lives abroad.

To participate in the ceremony, please submit the participation form no later than Sunday, March 29, 11:59 pm US EST.

Event Access

  • Location, paths of travel to the location, entry: Great Room, Community Center. Enter the front doors of the Great Room from the ground floor of Blanchard Hall, pass the Dining Commons or front door of Blanchard Hall from Skinner Green, walk down the stairs or take the elevator to the lower level.
  • Bathrooms closest to the space: Bathrooms are located outside of the Great Room in Blanchard Hall. Two restrooms are located in the atrium outside of the Great Room on the far side near the Cochary Pub . Gender neutral, accessible restrooms are located when exiting the Great Room on the right past the elevators. 
  • Guest participation: Students and their guests will be seated at tables for most of the event. Upon arrival, students and guests are invited to socialize. When the food is served, everyone will be invited to help themselves to appetizers and beverages before the program begins. 
  • Who is participating: The event is for graduating international seniors. President Holley, the Dean of Students, alum speakers, staff and faculty will support the event. The International Student Organizing Committee (ISOC) members will decorate the room and read out the names of the graduating seniors during the tassel presentation ceremony. Each graduating student will hear their name read aloud and be invited to come to the stage to receive their tassel. 
  • Food and beverages: Vegetarian heavy appetizers such as spring rolls, samosas and mini spanakopita turnovers as well as water and fruit punch will be served.
