During the summer of 2022, these five Mount Holyoke students supported STEM education from coast to coast. As a Summer Teaching Assistant at Girls Who Code, Mumtaz encouraged female and non-binary students to pursue their interests in Computer Science. At the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, Sarah developed curriculum for their teaching gardens and mentored new camp staff at their outdoor education summer camp. Mariam assisted advisors at the University of Denver and the University of Minnesota in providing a pathway to STEM for elementary school students during summer camp. Miki organized a Design Thinking program in Silicon Valley for students and new graduates to develop soft skills. Benni taught children and families about coastal life in Massachusetts with Joppa Flats. Though their strategies varied in their delivery, they each found themselves on a journey to self-discovery, refining their leadership and communication skills along the way.
