"Tías and Primas: On Knowing and Loving the Women Who Raise Us “ is a deeply felt love letter to family, community, and Latinas everywhere.” For the kickoff of Latine/Latinx Heritage Month, storyteller Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez will read from her new book to express her efforts to heal the pain that is often embodied in family lines of women through intergenerational trauma, centuries of colonization and sexism.

Rodríguez will also engage in dialogue with Feminist Scholar, Dr. Kristian Contreras, with a Q&A led by Eliana Ortega Building Manager and DEI Fellow, Citlalli Caratachea.
