Immigration has many broad areas of study and is a multidimensional issue that continues to impact U.S. history and current policy. All the students in this panel pursued internships that related to immigration. The culmination of our interdisciplinary research aims to provide a more holistic and comprehensive view of immigration as a legal and cultural phenomenon. Our work with immigration and legal enforcement broadened our perspectives and understandings of the subject. Through analyzing qualitative sources, including archives, administrative and legal directives, and oral histories within our work, we were able to evaluate regional and interpersonal impacts of current and historical policies. More importantly, we were able to gain first-hand experience and explore the nuances of immigration policy through our internships.
