The humanities discipline centers stories, from those we uncover in archives and through research, to those we tell in artistic works. Our internships all included storytelling in some capacity. Some of us took our first steps as archival researchers in the areas of photography, history, and children’s literature, while others researched and edited scripts for a film and television production company. Our experiences developed our knowledge of our chosen fields, built our confidence as collaborators and writers, and pushed our skills as independent researchers in the creative arts. This panel will demonstrate how broad the artistic and humanities fields are, and how these internships improved our abilities to draw stories out of a variety of sources.
