Our panel focuses on three different types of fieldwork across disciplines including Archaeology, Gardening, and Environmental Studies. On an individual level, we learned:

  • The importance of engaging in hands-on archaeological fieldwork in the comprehensive learning of art history.
  • Practicing different types of plant-maintaining skills, such as planting, watering, and weeding, and communication with local gardening organizations.
  • The different entry points into environmental careers and how local policymaking processes interact with national policy processes.

Through our internships, we all built connections to our physical work environments. This was our first time working with people in our professional fields. During the process, we learned how to communicate effectively with experts. After completing our internships, we gained more insights into our future career goals.
