About this Event
We live in a world of near-constant noise. Each day we encounter both sounds that delight—a new song that makes us want to dance, the laughter of a loved one, birds chirping outside—and sounds that may burden—ambulance sirens, the buzz of anxiety, voices of shame or censure. And we often feel compelled to add to this noise, to produce content and to know the right thing to say, perhaps before we’re ready.
In the midst of this, how might we benefit from silence and from deep listening? How might we learn to heed most that which leads us into a deeper knowledge of and a deeper belonging to ourselves and others? How might we strive to hear what mystic Howard Thurman called “The Sound of the Genuine”?
Join this session for an intentional time of silence, listening, and guided questions/introspection. Together we’ll explore what our minds, bodies, and/or communities might presently be trying to draw our attention to.
