About this Event
LOVE YOUR BODY, HEART & SOUL: Embodied Collective Care for BIPOC Wonderers, Wanderers & Warriors"
Join somatic practitioner & author Kai Cheng Thom for a workshop on somatic self-care and community care skills for BIPOC folks
Description: How can we as racialized people use the wisdom and power of our bodies to reclaim love and liberation for ourselves and our kindred? In this experiential workshop, author and somatic practitioner Kai Cheng Thom will guide participants through a series of embodiment and expressive arts exercises designed to explore reconnection to lineage, community, and belonging. This powerful and gentle process is for any BIPOC identified person who is interested in somatics and embodiment and racial healing. Participants who are organizers or facilitators may also gain skills and tools for their own practice.
NOTE: This is an educational and experiential workshop focused on skill building for self care and community care. However, it is not a form of mental health therapy, nor is it meant to replace such care. Participants should come prepared to set their own limits and boundaries, and to connect to outside resources should they feel the need.
