Match Education is a non-profit organization working to close the achievement gap through various innovations, including full-time professional tutoring and teacher training. We are widely recognized for success in preparing low-income students for success in four-year colleges. Our high-impact tutoring model has been described as a “transforming opportunity” for students by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

The Match Corps fellowship is an 11-month, AmeriCorps commitment and an amazing opportunity for elite college graduates who want to spend a year closing the achievement gap, one student at a time. Match Corps alumni go on to some of the best law, med and grad schools in the country, or to other careers in and outside of education.

Our teacher training program, the Match Teacher Residency, is widely known for creating unusually effective rookie teachers—Match Teacher Residents who, in addition to tutoring, are enrolled in our in-house teaching training program, the Sposato Graduate School of Education. Through Sposato, they receive hands-on, practical coursework and a lot of individualized coaching and feedback. Upon the completion of the graduate school requirements, Match Teacher Residents receive their Master’s in Effective Teaching.
