The Joint BA/MA Program in Geneva is a dual degree program, established seven years ago offering students the opportunity to study at the internationally renowned Graduate Institute for the first semester of their senior year and to complete their master’s degrees in the year after receiving their BA from Mount Holyoke.

MCGI is holding an information session for interested students (and curious faculty) on Thursday, October 17 at 12:00 pm in Skinner 216. We’ll be Zooming in several current participants and will cover the program structure and options, application process, and finances/financial aid.

Current juniors take note-- the deadline to apply to this program via the Request to Study Abroad in my.mountholyoke and supplemental application is November 30, 2024.

Mount Holyoke students generally will be expected to choose the interdisciplinary Master in International and Development Studies ('MINT') program, but may be considered for admission to a disciplinary program if they can demonstrate a solid background in the area of study.

Within the MINT interdisciplinary master’s, students may choose one of seven specializations:

  • CONFLICT, PEACE AND SECURITY
  • ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY
  • GENDER, RACE AND DIVERSITY
  • GLOBAL HEALTH
  • HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMANITARIANISM
  • MOBILITIES, MIGRATIONS AND BOUNDARIES
  • SUSTAINABLE TRADE AND FINANCE

Prior knowledge of French is not required for admission to the program (most courses are taught in English), but there is a language requirement for the master’s degree. We strongly recommend that all students with little or no background in French take French here prior to embarking on the program, and in the senior spring semester at MHC.
