Jonathan Ashby,  assistant professor of chemistry, is a bioanalytical chemist that specializes in separations sciences and macromolecular interactions. In this discussion he will talk about the different case studies (food adulteration, lead in water, and others) that are the centerpieces of the analytical chemistry course at Mount Holyoke. In addition to creating interest and teaching technical skills, we will also look at how these case studies teach transferable skills to help students in their future scientific endeavors.
