Seven books in one afternoon…

Seven professors from the Five College of MA Spanish/Latin American/Latinx Studies departments will present brief visual presentations on their recent books, in English. The event is open to the public and hybrid—one can attend in Dwight 101 on Mount Holyoke College campus or over Zoom.

Topics and genres will include:

  • research on female agency in Latin American film, maternity in 16th-17th century Iberian Atlantic, the representation of disability in Filipino-Latino migrant culture, and resistance in Barcelona’s public spaces
  • a critical edition of the 1946 memoir of a Spanish survivor of a Nazi concentration camp
  • a book of poetry that explores gender, freedom, and the imagination
