The Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra, welcomes Lucas Bouk, for a program of transformations, from Peteris' Vasks haunting Symphony No.1 focusing on global change, concluding with Bedrich Smetana’s iconic tone poem depicting the Vltava or the Moldau river as it flows through the Czech Republic.

Lucas Bouk made his Lincoln Center debut with New York City Opera in the World Premiere of Ian Bell & Mark Campbell’s Stonewall in June 2019 and has performed with opera companies across the United States. He has been featured in the The New York Times, Classical Singer, and in The New Yorker’s talk of the town. Whether taking the lead or bringing to life a supporting role, Bouk captivates audiences. Lucas’s 2024-2025 season included creating new roles with American Opera Projects / NYU Opera Lab and premiering a new work for Opera Parallèlle’s Expansive—A Showcase of Transgender and Non Binary Classical Artists. Lucas traveled to Colorado to perform as a guest artist at Mountainfilm in celebration of the new documentary film Tessitura, which highlights his vocal journey and explores the intersection of voice, character, and gender.

Lucas is a regular collaborator with the composer-librettist team Felix Jarrar and Bea Goodwin. In 2018 the duo created the mezzo-soprano role of Tristan Tzara in Tabula Rasa to celebrate Lucas’ coming out as a transgender man. After re-training as a baritone, Lucas recently starred as Loeb in Jarrar & Goodwin’s Hindsight with Chicago Fringe Opera and KOR Productions. Upcoming performances include a November 2025 production of their new opera Madam with Killer Queen Opera in Brooklyn.
