This panel explores how the intersection of artistic, scientific, and Indigenous practices in BREACH, a 2024 exhibition by Courtney M. Leonard at the University Museum of Contemporary Art, furthered scientific inquiry and told the story of Staccato, a North Atlantic right whale whose remains are held in UMass’ Natural History Collections.
