Considered one of Russia's greatest and most enigmatic writers, Nikolai Gogol made masterful use of the comic, fantastic, and grotesque to illustrate the reality of tsarist Russia in the 19th century. Join Professor Peter Scotto of the Russian & Eurasian Studies department for a discussion of images and illustrations of Gogol and his works.
