The Mount Holyoke College Department of Film Media Theater ends the 2025-26 season with “POTUS, or Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive” written by Selena Fillinger and directed by Natalie Werthamer ‘26.
When the President manages to blow up a PR disaster into a full‐blown global crisis, seven brilliant, beleaguered women working in the White House must scramble to keep the free world from unraveling. From the Chief of Staff and Press Secretary to the First Lady, a journalist and a mistress, these women all risk life, liberty, and sanity to clean up the chaos caused by the man they serve.
This riotous farce is a bawdy, irreverent ride through power, politics, and the often invisible labor of women in high stakes roles. With sharp wit, outrages, and a cast of characters who are equal parts heroic and exhausting, it’s a hilarious yet pointed look at what happens when nobody sane is allowed to yield.
This production is directed by Natalie Werthamer ‘26. Set design by Amy Sue Hazel, costume design by Jensen Glick, lighting and sound Design by Sam Skynner.
