This panel addresses four internships in public advocacy and education. We gained insight on community engagement & outreach, progrpm development, and policy analysis; we are united in our commitment to serving underrepresented populations and civic action by advancing community education and resource initiatives. Mikayla Esquilin interned as a Program Coordinator for One Holyoke CDC in Holyoke, Massachusetts, developing and supporting educational, civic, and communal programming for Holyoke residents. Evie DalPra was a Policy and Programming Intern for EqualityMaine (EQME) in Portland, Maine, analyzing policy, writing testimony, and developing educational and community programs for queer and allied youth. Fern Freeland interned as a Youth STEAM Program Coordinator for Farmworker Housing Development Corp. in Woodburn, Oregon, running summer activities for children in local housing developments. Ella Barrett was a Civic and Activism Intern for TurnUp Activism, supporting the initiatives of New Hampshire nonprofits along with working remotely to create youth civic engagement resources.
