About this Event
Speakers: A'mara Braynen '22 and Kay Brown '23
We welcome you to join us for a museum tour that aims to challenge dominant narratives in art and history, examining the ways in which reframing art and offering counter-narratives can bring to light stories and people that have too often been whitewashed and erased.
We are going to discover, or rather uncover, the disturbing narratives and truths behind objects considered beautiful, overlooked, and even invisible. Our hopes are that after traveling through time and looking closely at art we’ll begin to cultivate a healthy curiosity about history and its impact on our daily lives. Together we will develop a toolkit of resistance that can be used to excavate the buried truths of the past and present.
