About this Event
Featuring a panel of Mount Holyoke alums, panelists will reflect and dialogue on their involvement in the April 1997 takeover of Mary Lyon Hall. Building on the tradition of student advocacy and demands for community improvement, this pivotal moment in the College’s history concluded weeks long protests, rallies, and sit-ins around demands centering religious life, cultural space, admissions policies, and curriculum offerings. This session will engage panelists on their experience with intersectional organizing, through student coalition building and direct action. It will include the review of primary sources held in the college Archives and Special Collection. The panel will be moderated by Digital Projects Archivist, Micha Broadnax.
This workshop is sponsored by Archives and Special Collections
