Speakers: Rachel Beth Sayet (Mohegan), Larry Spotted Crow Mann (Nipmuc), Michele Scott (Mashantucket Pequot), Jonathan Perry (Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head, Aquinnah)
A collaborative panel of local Tribal Leaders, storytellers, and educators will explore concepts of self-determination and tribal sovereignty. This candid dialogue will discuss modern day struggles, strengths, and successes in Native New England.
This lecture is made possible by the Mary Elizabeth Johnson Lecture Fund, established by Gloria Johnson-Powell '58 in memory of her mother. The fund supports lectures on topics of social justice and human rights.
