About this Event
Our goal for Staff Council Drop-in Sessions is to continue to create space for communication and community building for staff members. Twice a month, we will offer drop-in times for staff to join us in conversation. We will occasionally have guest hosts who will be available to take specific questions. This semester, Staff Council drop-in sessions will be held on September 15, September 29, October 13, October 27, November 10 and December 15 from 12:00-12:30 using Zoom. No pre-registration is required, and the session will not be recorded.
November 10: Kijua Sanders-McMurtry will update us on DEI climate concerns and strategic planning. She will also discuss the importance of recruitment, retention and support of staff across the spectrum of diversity (and with specific emphasis to the needs of staff of color and/or who identify as LGBTQ+ and other marginalized identities) at Mount Holyoke. She will welcome staff input on DEI policies and programming (e.g. the chosen name policy, pronoun policy (in progress), land acknowledgement policy, racial justice, healing and reconciliation week, BOOM, etc).
