In how many ways can one tell a story? How do nontraditional stories shape our world today? This panel explores the multitude of ways academics and creatives shape and share stories. Betty gained crowdfunding strategies for the documentary of the Bread & Puppet Theatre with archival research, exploring its attention on social problems. Ruth worked in a museum and attempted to paint a fuller picture of chattel slavery's impact on American life by conducting research on material culture and coding slave manifests to track the voyages of slave vessels. Ryan created a short film and compiled a photography portfolio capturing art in everyday life. Radhika explored the future of journalism, combining her journalistic and AI skills to create and strategize digital content, while also recording podcasts on cpmera independently and for the firm. Together, our panel explores how storytelling can be innovative, political, and untraditional.
