DESCRIPTION:This event has been moved from April 15\, 2021. \n\nIn this Alu
mnae Association webinar\, Dr. Julia Ward '90 discusses health and immunit
y\, and shares considerations for wellness based on her more than two deca
des of medical experience. She touches upon the state of the American heal
thcare system -- issues and alternative options. \n\nDr. Ward is a champio
n for the healthcare of busy\, stressed out moms. Her own issues with horm
one imbalance and chronic fatigue spurred her to complete a study of funct
ional medicine. This is a more holistic way of approaching health that loo
ks for the root causes of symptoms rather than just treating a diagnosis w
ith a prescription. As a working mom with five kids\, she knows what it fe
els like to be overwhelmed with fatigue\, stress and other changes that ha
ppen with age. Dr. Ward has been able to bring balance to her own health a
s well as to those of hundreds of her patients. She completed her fellowsh
ip with the Metabolic Medicine Institute (also known as A4M) and continues
to study with the Institute for Functional Medicine\, the International P
eptide Society\, and a variety of other organizations and functional labs.
She graduated medical school from the University of Southern California a
nd has been practicing medicine for over twenty-five years.\n\nThe event w
