Storytelling As Resistence: A Discussion About Heritage, Cultural Work, and Solidarity With Keynote Speaker: Leyla Moushabeck

Join us as we gather to launch SWANA Heritage Month 2026. This opening ceremony is an invitation to honor the rich, multifaceted legacies of South Asian, West Asian, and North African peoples. The evening will offer a deep dive into SWANA’s collective identity, beginning with an exploration of the historical origins of SWANA Heritage Month to ground the celebration in the advocacy of those who came before us.

We are especially honored to host Keynote Speaker Leyla Moushabeck, editor and co-owner of Interlink Publishing, who will discuss the essential intersections of heritage, storytelling, and solidarity in our current moment.

To conclude the ceremony, we have a delicious dinner while engaging in meaningful reflection as one collective.
