Join us for a nationwide day of action in defense of #TeachBannedBooks, #RightToLearn and #DefendLGBTQRights at the Sojourner Truth Memorial. At a touchstone of inspiration, let’s honor Sojourner Truth during our continued struggle to teach history.

In response to the growing political fervor to ban books by Black, Indigenous, authors of color, and LGBTQ+ writers, we are gathering together at the Sojourner Truth Memorial on Saturday, June 10th from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. to share our appreciation for and commitment to teaching banned books. We will take a brief tour of the memorial, learn more about the life and legacy of Sojourner Truth, and spend time in community to make truth-teaching plans.

Read Banned Books:

Current Mount Holyoke students can read banned books online through  Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) and the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system.
