Join the Astronomy Department in welcoming Astrophysicist Dr. Jenna Samra to Mount Holyoke College on February 8! This event is in celebration of the Total Solar Eclipse that will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada on April 8, 2024.
At 3 pm, we will host a meet-and-greet reception with light refreshments in Kendade Atrium. Meet Dr. Samra and ask her questions related to her expertise and the upcoming eclipse!
At 4:45 pm, please join us for Dr. Samra's talk in Hooker Auditorium in Clapp Laboratory, titled, "Exploring the Sun’s Corona during a Total Solar Eclipse: Instrumentation and Observations"

As an astrophysicist at the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) | Harvard & Smithsonian, Dr. Jenna Samra develops remote sensing instruments to observe the solar corona and Earth's atmosphere.
