About this Event
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is excited to welcome queer-identified human, Jesse Freidin (he/him), to Mount Holyoke College for a photoshoot in honor of Trans Week of Visibility.
TGNC students are invited to register to participate via this form: https://bit.ly/JesseFreidinTWoV. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Steph Gomez, Community Resource Coordinator, at stephgomez@mtholyoke.edu.
Jesse Freidin is known around the country for his "Are You OK?" storytelling/community interview project which was born "as a response to the fear and anger these [anti-trans] bills awoke in me, as a way to pass the microphone to the kids and families who find empowerment in sharing their stories, and more importantly as a visual remedy to trans stigmatization." The portraits taken will be given to students first and foremost and will not be used for promotional purposes. In collaboration with Archives and Special Collections, we plan to archive these portraits for generational knowledge and honoring our queer and trans ancestors.
