About this Event
Radical Relationalism & Abundant Affinities: A QTBIPoC Artist Series
A queer/trans Black Indigenous people of color (QTBIPoC) artist hybrid series that culminates in an in-person artist conversation on Nov. 14th, "Alchemy's Invitation: Materializing Memory as Magic" between Sean Desiree, wood-working artist and muscian, with Alisa Sikelianos-Carter, mixed-media artist, both based in upstate New York. The conversation will discuss each artist's work in relation to one another, their rituals in finding their artistic practice and process, and how each of their work wrestles with the past in deciphering Black futures.
The conversation will be co-hosted by Sarah Stefana Smith (Gender Studies), Vick Quezada (MHC Art Studio) and Ren-yo Hwang (Gender Studies/CST) from 5-7 pm, Mon. 11/14/22, in MHCAM/Gamble Auditorium.
All events are open to the public. Please register.
