The dreams of mad, mentally ill, and neurodivergent (MMIND) folks are regularly disappeared, our futures stolen—all under the guise of treatment. We deserve the right to figure ourselves and our futures unclouded by supposed pathology.

Visualizing mad & magical futures is a 90-minute visioning workshop that explores what a world built by and for MMIND people could look like. Prompts will be provided to help attendees dream their own mad & magical futures through writing, art, or whatever form of creative expression feels most comfortable.

The workshop includes a summary of the medical model, a brief explanation of the framework of magical depressive realism along with the biosociometaphysical model of madness, and take-home practices for integrating the ideas presented into daily life.
